I am looking to build a BM-59 clone para model. What would be the prefered donor rifle for this build? The Norinco 305 or the Dominion Arms M-14? I would like to use the Berreta folding stock and tri-compensator. Has anyone tried this or something similar yet? Thanks for any input.
 
Translation: Good sir, I believe the appropriate starting rifle for this project, would be the M1 Garand, as the BM-59 is a modified version of this rifle, albeit chambered in 7.62 x51, and using a detachable mag.
 
m1 garand receiver and make a short barrel m1 garand the same size of the BM59 Saves a lot of work converting the receiver to accept magazines, which are 5 round restricted
,when you can have eight. Barrel can be made in 18.5" to be non-restricted
 
I have put bm59 hardware pistol grip and folding stock on to a m14 stock it is not that difficult maybe a hour in the shop to do it properly. Look up Reese stocks for m14's on google it will give you the idea.
