Say you have a 1911 with a target style Bo-mar rear site and you want to change to "iluminated sites." After changing the front site, what are the options? What's easiest?

+1 on what Gunner suggested.

Once the slide is cut for the Bo-Mar style, not chance of getting a Novak to fit, you would have to weld metal back in, waste of time.

Also, you could try a Heinie, they will fit the Kimber cut for the factory adjustable, if you have a Bo-Mar, a little more will have to be milled from the rear of the slide providing the original Bo-Mar cut was done to spec, I have done a few and the worked well, you just have to like the profile of the Heinie.

I would got with a replacement Bo-Mar with tritium inserts as Gunner suggested, it would save you quite a bit of money and still work great.

Thanks guys. I'm in favour of the adjustable sites for screwing around with load development, but also like the look cool factor of night sites.

Sounds like tritium Bo-Mars will meet my needs.

How about the new STI Tactical no-snag adjustable night sights ? I have a set and they are sweet...
