I did some talking in the right rural places, because the Connor Creek grazing pasture, a few years back had some.
A trip this past spring revealed no evidence of them in that area anymore.
Seems some rural Alberta counties employed 'pest control' employees who were paid twice the offered bounty for each wild boar shot dead.
They even made it law, that no rural landowner or farmer could prevent land access on private lands where wild boar were living, to these county employees for this eradication program, it was said.
This was thirdhand information passed on to myself.
