With Bob Vogel's win at the World IPSC Shoot this year do you see Glocks becoming more prevalent in IPSC Production here in Canada.?

I think it's the man behind the gun not the particular gun...:p

I agree.
Dave Sevigny can win or come top with any gun, same with Todd Jarrett or Robbie Letham. Those guys are shooters not gun enthusiasts.

Glock in my opinion is an excellent choice for getting into dynamic shooting competition, whichever it is. It is cheap, easy to modify, pretty much bullet proof and parts are easy to get.
Instead spending lots of money on buying expensive rig at start, maybe it is worth to consider G17 up to Gen3 and the rest of the money spend on bullets and training.

or maybe just maybe, Glock spends more money and recruits/sponsors the top shooters.

Nope. It has more to do with the rule differences. Glock 34s are allowed in USPSA PD. There is no minumum trigger pull weights and more mods are allowed. It's not uncommon to see G34s with 1lb to 2lb trigger pulls at a USPSA match.

OK then...I see...I am off to buy a Glock 34, as I am looking to win the Florida open this year:D

There were only 3 or 4 CZs at the IDPA World Shoot for basically the same reason. Without a trigger pull limit the striker fired pistols have a major advantage over the DA SA steel guns. They can be driven faster, have as good or better trigger pulls and the felt recoil reducing effect of the heavier guns cannot offset the advantages of the striker fired guns for most shooters. I am sure CZ was happy to see the trigger pull limit left at 5# for IPSC Production.

you could make three identical guns,
but give them three different names,
people would still say one is better,

case in point, I used to do psychological tests for school, like putting rc cola in three botttles, one labeled pepsi, one coke, one rc cola... everyone liked either the coke or pepsi best, not a single person out of 50 realised they were all the same

same thing with pudding,
4 cups, all vanilla, one dyed brown "chocolate", one dyed "butterscotch" color, one dyed "tapioca", one un dyed vanilla
everyone got confused by the green pudding, was the only one not always called the flavor of which it was colored (got called lime, tapioca, mint, and idont know was most common)
the rest were called what they looked like,

again not a single person realized they were all the same flavour.
proofs in the pudding

that being said, the M an P is the best cause thats what I have :)

Your analogy has some merit but for those who are competitors as opposed to shooters playing IPSC if a gun or design has certain advantages the competitors will choose it over a gun that may hot have those advantages, ignoring their skill level. The contrast between what plays in IPSC Production and USPSA Production is telling and IDPA SSP only serves to make the point. The win on Sunday sells on Monday does play a major role as well IMHO. The rules of the game does have a bearing on what plays in the game.

My area director told me the USPSA BOD decided at the meeting this month to impose a minimum 3 pound trigger pull from jan 2013.

They also decided to ban magnets to hold mags! Fur is already flying at brian's forum.

:(

people see lots of Shadows, so they go and buy one. it seems to be contageous. so in that way i guess they rule production. i dont think they necessarily
make anyone a better shooter. but they have good advertising i guess. when you see someone win with a shadow, you figure thats teh reason, so you guy one.

It's the archer, not the arrow....

That having been said: I wish Beretta was still producing the Elite II. I think that's the only thing standing between me and Ben Stoeger-like success.
