Bobcat or lynx? Not even the experts are certain

I have lived in areas where bobcats were common, and now live in Lynx territory.
The picture the OP posted is a bobcat by all the distinctive characteristics.
Lynx have the longer ear tufts, and cheek tufts, plus the larger paws. Dave.
 
Looks like a bobcat to me. We have a small family in my relatively suburban Calgary neighbourhood. I see the mom and 2 smaller ones walking along the back fence and right through the yard from time to time, haven't managed to get a picture yet though. I'm sure they do alright, we also have LOTS of jackrabbits too :)
