Boberg Arms XR9-L Preorder Extravaganza

Found on the Boberg website, I think he is talking about us:

We have temporarily discontinued the short stroke trigger. One reason is that about 1/3 of the people who get it, don't like it (the force goes up), and the other reason is it held up a major order with a distributor, since we were a few short and couldn't complete the shipment. I'm hoping that we can work the wrinkles out of our supply chain and communicate better how the trigger feels before people buy it. Sure, the end customer can swap it out with the original trigger, but it is just another thing we end up having to follow up with.

I really looked at the short trigger with a lot of question: the graphs of the trigger pull length vs force required took a bit to understand, but in the end I chose not to. With a firearm as light as the Boberg I was afraid the extra force would require more training to maintain accuracy.

As for the delayed shipment: I've wanted one for almost 3 years now, so I suppose I can wait a few more days (a few months would start to irk me tho). :yingyang:

Sorry Daniel, I can't hold it back.....

I got the e-mail, called as soon as I read it...

w:h: Mine might make it to my house by Labor Day Weekend w:h:

I "whispered" that for you poor people that got the short trigger and have to wait a bit longer. :bigHug:

Sigh....hopefully only 4 more weeks.

The site, as always, shows Bobergs are available for Pre-Order only. We will post here when we have pistols available in stock; in the meantime, each pistol coming in is accounted for and built to the end user's specifications with a PO for their individual firearm. Bobergs can be pre-ordered at any time, however.

Cheers,
Daniel

Yeah....me too.
Got to wonder how many people are in that boat and why we where not offered regular triggers once they identified the problem.

? There is no problem with the short stroke trigger. There is even a full graph on the manufacturer website showing the exact travel lenght and weight of the two choices of trigger. I agree more information or a link might have been posted on Wanstalls website.

Choice 1 : Longer travel with less pull weight
Choice 2 : Shorter travel with more pull weight

I find it nice to have this choice. Not many manufacturers would do that. But now, since many don't inform themselves or think you can have both (short + light) on a DA pistol, they will remove the choice because of the complaints.
You can probably order the other trigger in a kit, it is listed on boberg website, and have both if you want the other.

Yeah there are zero issues with triggers other than supply. The Short stroke which was in high demand caused the (short stroke shipment) to be delayed awaiting trigger parts. Boberg was great and shipped the standard triggers as soon as they were ready! We have had notification from Boberg that parts should be installed and shipment ready within 30 days...I will post updates on this when i know more.

They don't have the short trigger...id call that a problem.
I just want the pistol and frankly don't care which trigger it comes with.
I feel we should have been offered regular triggers once they realized that the supplier had a "problem" delivering.
Now we hear 33% of people "dont like" it.
Who would want to wait for that?
Let me guess....you ordered "regular"?
No problem for you at least...

supply issues are rampant in the industry right now. If i could offer everyone the option to switch i probably would have but all standard trigger pistols were pretty much accounted for. It shouldn't be too much longer!

This is unfortunate as I would guess that would put it in my hands sometime mid October, my range will basically be closed by then. I can always hope for very warm fall. Oh well waited this long.

I will have my Boberg tomorrow: got the afternoon off to head to the range (I am due a lot of vacation time, so it was no problem).

I will post a range report tomorrow night in a new thread: I have 9 different ammo to try, 8 are 124gr and one 100 box of 115gr to break it in.

Then all you guys waiting on triggers can then see the awesome you are waiting for. :yingyang:

At this point I wish I had gotten the standard. But this does affirm for me that I will never join a preorder again that requires me to put money down (unless under 100) as that what bothers me otherwise I wouldn't care.
