Walked through a local gun shop looking for reloading goodies when I saw a pistol that seemed too small for me to legally own...

A 2 tone Boberg XR9-L....... Trigger pull was pretty heavy but I want one. Would sit nice next to my bond arms snake slayer...

Who's played with one if these?
Worth the 1475 price tag?

I agree.

The gun is revolutionary.

Made in small batches by a small one man shop...hence the high price tag.

A tad pricey but worth to be in my safe...someday, not today.

I've read a couple reviews since posting. They are fairly finicky with factory ammo, and reloading for it is apparently just as finicky. It has also been known to have mag spring issues.

So far I have to agree the price tag reflects the cool factor, not its reliable function.

They have an approved ammo list included in with gun gun so the "finicky" part has been researched and resolved for you. It pretty much only shoots correctly crimped ammo do to its reverse mag design and as long as you pull the follower out of the mag and just use the spring the mag functions fine. That was the original design, Arny added it after the fact do to consumer demands.

They have a list of recommended ammo and its quite lengthy. The list of non recommended ammo is the one to watch for. My local dealer (SFRC) had 3 choices of ammo in stock that was on the recommended list so that wasn't a concern. I also tried my reloads and they worked fine. I just made sure they were crimped properly.

There are no mag spring issues. The gun was designed with no mag follower and works perfectly without a follower. Some customers complaned that something was missing so he installed followers and that makes the last round really tight to get in or not get in at all. I have 2 mags, 1 with a follower and 1 without. I will be removing the follower in the second mag as its not required.

Nice little pistol and has been totally reliable so far. And yes, it does complement the Bond Arms Ranger II and it sits beside it in the locker when not at the range.

I finally got mine out last week. Had a blast with it. I ran 4 different personal reloads, one factory reload, and one factory ammo through it. I had a couple early failure to come to full battery in the first couple mags, but after that all my ammo ran flawlessly. I'm guessing it was a bit of a break in. Mine pitches brass almost directly over head and back to around the 5 o'clock area. Trigger pull was fine considering it's DAO. Glad it's in the safe. I even had a couple on lookers take it for a test drive.

I'm interested in getting one at some point in the future because I find it mechanically interesting. That said you can get a quality 9 mm for a touch more than half the price...

Very accurate and low recoil considering its size and 7.5 lb DAO trigger. Very reliable too. Just remember this pistol does better if you slingshot the slide rather than over hand racking.

these little pistols are growing on me. I might get one. I can see these being rare in a few years...

what the difference in the "Standard" (which appears to be 2 tone) Platinum (also 2 tone) and Elite (all black)?
any internals different or just the finish?

Does anyone have the reloading for this pretty ladies figured out? They seems to pull the bullet out of the casing if the crimping is off.

This is the only thing stopping me from buying one. I understand these are self defines guns, for carry, and good ammo should be used and they work 100% BUT we in canuckistan are not allowed no either carry or self defense, so, if I buy this, it has to take the same bullets as my other pistols.
