I'm at the point where I need to bump the shoulders on my .284 brass. I've never used a body die before this and was wondering what some of you who use these have observed. Should I use the body die and then the neck bushing / depriming die or neck then body? Does usng the body die after sizing the neck affect alignment of the neck? Has anyone noticed this? I have no runout guage, so I really can't see eccentricity until I seat a bullet.

I've run 20 pcs through the neck die and then the body die but the rest I will process having run through the body die first......just as an experiment.

Thanks guys!

Either way works however without the runout gauge you won't know which works best. As the brass comes out of the chamber it should have the least amount of runout. It's a case of trying and checking, use that unpurchased gauge. It's like handloading with out the chrony, you're getting part of the picture.
