I'm posting this for a friend who owns a Boito O/U. I've never heard of this manufactuerer until today, but apparently they are Brazillian.

Anyways, he recently bought a 12g O/U BR-7 and he says that the firing pins over-penetrate the primers, and stick there, making the gun hard to crack open again.

Has anyone else had this problem in any O/U?

How did you remedy it? I've never used a gun like this, so I'm at my wits end here.

Thanks for any help.

Are the primers actually pierced? If so....it shouldn't be a problem to shorten firing pins....if the primers are not punctured..it may just be the firing pin return spring/s are weak or missing/broken.

If this is an older gun that has seen lots of use, check the cocking levers for excessive wear. When worn, they will fail to engage the cocking plungers in time to push the hammers back so that the firing pins can retract.
