I just sold my old bolt action 20ga and I am considering replacing it with a side by side. I saw a Boito in 20ga that fits the budget, but don't know much about them. Are they well built or should I just keep looking?

i have had one for some time, and use it for skeet and hunting- no problems yet- only thing was the reciever finish was not real good, but hey for the price

Don't know about new production Boito SxS shotguns, but the older ones don't seem to hold up to a lot of shooting really well. I have an older one that has not worked out terribly well.

They ought to be ok if you only do a limited amount of shooting, but if you shoot a lot I think you will be disapointed. If I were on a limited budget and looking for a SxS I would lean towards a used Baikial instead as they are much better wearing, in my experience.

I've owned a couple and only had problems with one.....weak hammer spring on one side, although I bnought it used and the last owner likely kept it cocked in his closet instead of releasing the springs....

I have a Boito , SxS coachgun in 12 guage . I'm on the third buttstock . The gun does get hammered hard and heavy with thousands of rounds through it and a lot of those being 3 inch mags . The crack starts right behind the tang and then the stock splits . The first stock was replaced under warranty but i've paid for the second two . I wish i could find a synthetic stock for it . I like the gun as it's short and easy to swing in a tent so it's my camping gun and the other thing i like is that both barrels fire Brenneke 3 inch mag slugs to the same place at 50 yards . I'd guess , on average , the stock splits about every 3,000 rounds but you can see the crack develope before that . Anybody know where i can get a synthetic stock for it ?

I too would be interested in synthetic for my Boito coach gun....my is the pimp style though......appears to be satin electroless nickel plated.....black synthetic would look good on it...
