Wanted one of these last year and didn't get it, is the picture on the box a representation of whats in the calender? Do you have any of last year's left as well?
 
If you want one, get it. I got one last year and loved it. Different blades (serrated, non-serrated), different hardware including grip scales and screws, and a few swag items as well. One thing I will say, I was out of the country for most of December so I didn't get to open it day-by-day, but honestly I feel like it would have been a hassle to do it one step per day for a few of the steps. Some of the steps are finnicky, so I was happy to have to do them all in one go.

Overall though I had a blast building it, and the end result is a very sharp, and sharp-looking blade.

You must gave received a different one than I did last year. Mine came with two blades one with a nail nick and the other with thumb studs. Neither of them had serrations

I think it’s a novelty item, as I think for the 200 price point after shipping and taxes there’s quite a few knife choices with better blade steel than d2. Only you can decide if it’s worth that price to assemble your own knife with the blade style and scales that you prefer.

I enjoyed assembling mine day after day last year, but I won’t be getting one this year.

I have to agree, it was fun to get once but I wouldn't get it again. Mine came with 2 of the same blades.
