Hi,
I'm playing with the idea of getting a bolt action in 7.62x39 - primarily because the rounds are pretty cheap (you can easily find the ammo for $0.28/round). I really just want a centerfire rifle for casual target shooting. Feel free to suggest different calibers, but I pretty much have my mind set.
I'm looking at the CZ527, and the Ruger American Ranch. In either case, I'll want to mount aperture sights. I know that NECG makes one for the CZ527, and I am wondering if Tech Sights could be mounted on the Ruger American Ranch - I'm not certain if their rail mount rear sight for the 10/22 from Tech Sights would fit on the Ranch's factory rail, but I'm guessing a good smith could mount a Tech Sights front sight with no trouble.
Does anyone have direct experience with either or both of these rifles? Especially if you have installed aperture sights, I'd like to hear about your experience and opinions about these rifles.
Thanks,
Neil
