bolt action .22 in the $100-$150 range

Well I would like to thanks Jim and Jay ! Although I have never met those guys, I feel that they are more like brothers than strangers to me! I wish you both and your families a wonderful X-mas and may you both have a long happy life ! this world needs more gentlemen like you guys !

Thanks again !!! :) !!

FYI, greentips has approved this 'group buy', so long as Pre-1898 posts a picture of his son with the rifle.

Cheers
Jay

Hi brothers, I spoke to my son this morning and brought the discussion about his preference and he told me he prefers iron sight to scope as for him it is more challenging. Do the NS522 come with iron sight ? he also mention that he likes other actions like lever and pump. would you mind if I get him something else than a bolt action if I find one , like a Henry or else ? I was maybe planning to take a ride around gun shops with him to get the pulse on what he would like. What you think ?

Your choice Pre-1898, but if accuracy & target shooting is the goal, it will be hard to beat the NS522, which doesn't have irons...

Cheers
Jay

Call Jason at Gunco and see what he has. You could get a single shot Cooey with a 24" barrel that has experience.
No mags to worry about digging into your arm or having to stop to reload. It's been a while since I've been in his shop but he always had a couple.

great thread!

hmm, why not install sights on the ns522? accurate and can moutn a scope later if he wants...last williams firesight I bought was about $30, doesn't take much gunsmithing to install

what do you guys think about the laminated wood Crickett ? it has iron sight and the peep sight seems great. last time we saw on my son said it was cool, but I know very little about them. Are they accurate ? can they shoot short ?
are they worth the money ?
