Bolt action .22LR

The Savage 22's are generally well built, popular, decently supported by Savage.

Many of them are made in Canada, exported to the US then re-imported into Canada (go figure).

We sell more Savage rimfires then all the other brands combined by two or three times.

The only complaint (which I have myself from my own Savage rimfires) is sometimes the magazines get a little finicky. I replaced all of mine with their stainless versions and it took care of the issues that I had.

For the money it's tough to go wrong with one...

Good luck here with my savage! Mine Will shoot most ammo around 1" @50yards.(5 shot groups) With match grade I have shot under 1/2". Had a warranty claim on a different mark2 and They were really easy to deal with. The turn around was pretty quick as well.

IS the Savage MKII FV is a good plinker for hunting and shooting on small target a 75yards or mabe 100 yards

Yes ! I had to add a cheek riser and make some butt spacers out of hard rubber to increase LOP on my FV. Other than that its a great little shooter. Mine loves Winchester DynaPoint (tight groups up to 100m) but will hit redbull cans with most ammo I feed it with the occasional miss with the golden bullets or federal 525.

Pushed it out to 150m with these targets:

Good plinker for sure. If you can get one and can inspect it for good sights etc a Norinco JW25a is a nice little rifle. I had to correct the front sights on mine with a new blade but after that it shoots very nice groups out to 100yrds with CCI AR, S&B and American eagle. They are about the same price range, my Norinco was $230 i thnk

They're decent guns for sure, though I've had a few plastic stocked Savage rimfires in the past and I'll never buy another rifle with that particular stock again. (Mark II style) The Savage B22 stock looks far better, I plan on fondling one the first time I see one in the flesh. :) Watched a review of the B22 on YouTube the other day, apparently the stock isn't the only improvement.

Hard to want a Savage after owning CZ/BRNO but if the B22 is an improved rifle...I'll keep an open mind. :)

^I bought one of those gopher/pop-up targets a couple of months ago, haven't tried it yet. :) they look like fun. I was going to say "hope that can was empty" when you shot it but then I realized it was Coors Light. :) :) :)

Here is the gopher target after roughly 700 rounds fired at it from 75m and 100m.
500 winchester dynapoint
50 golden bullets
50 federal 525
50 ae 38gr
50 ae 40gr

I'm looking for someone who could copy this setup in 1/4" AR400 or something that will actually survive 22lr.

Not pictured: cheek rest and butt pad (working on it)

YIKES! I saw the front view and thought "it DID survive". Then I saw the side. wow.

I made some small, square targets out of 1/8" CRS years ago, and hung them at 100 yards thinking "yeah...lighter steel, but at 100 yards...how much damage could 22LR actually do?" I'll tell you~totally destroyed after about 25 shots. Tougher than I ever gave it credit for, but it took that exercise to really appreciate it. It was all subsonic ammo too in my case.

got a Savage mark 2 FV and man i love it shoot it all day with it shoot some mini mag and stinger and the group at 75yard wase way better that what i expected but i need to change the scope have a cheap simmon on it and need to put a BIPOD what the best
