Thanks for all the replies Gentlemen! It turns out he's left-eye dominant so I may be forced to find a left-handed bolt rifle now. I'm leary of (hammered0 lever actions for reasons posted and from a close-call I had with another inexperienced operator. I considered the single shot but I know he'd want a repeater sooner than later. Thanks for all the options...keep 'em coming!
