Anyone see or get a better story on the bolt action that blew up at Silverdale? Monday I think.
Heard them talking about it, saw the first aid kit was out.
Gather someone shooting a .308 had a shell in the chamber and worked the bolt hard. Picked up a round out of the mag and rammed it into the shell in the chamber. I assume the bullet point set the primer off. I was told it blew the bolt back and wrecked the gun. Shooter had a cut hand, nothing serious.

If thats the case, i know how he felt.:D

Why was there more than one round in the chamber? Any of the ranges I go to it's strictly one round at a time.

Were they shooting military 5 in 10sec or 10 in 20sec otherwise it should have been singles only. Most ranges prefer this idea I think.

Definately - and loading nerf bullets is even more safe. I think we should all live in glass bubbles where we can't possibly get hurt. I also like to wear a crash helmet when I drive my volvo to the grocery store - just in case.

I'll take my chances with a multiround mag. The chances of this happening are minimal and if you pay close attention, you can virtually eliminate the chance of this happening to you.

It must take one severly retarded pack of old fuddy duddies to maintain enough memberships to keep these clubs open.

Air guns with cottonballs for ammo only.....................

At least we will make it to become "old fuddy duddies"...Some people at some of the ranges I've been to shouldn't even have a gun. Let alone one with a chambered round....

Safety is great, but you can't rule out stupidity.
I bet your rules make autoloaders a lot of fun.

I will gladly abide to the one round in the chamber rule.

Besides, it takes an awfully big hammer to pound two rounds into a chamber.

Seems to me you can still load one at a time in an auto... Actually it's not my rules just something we all like to abide by.
