I bought one 20 guage bolt action for potting grouse, and it feeds just fine-really slick.I picked up another one in 12 guage strictly for deer hunting, refinished the stock but and just won;t feed right. The front of the shell didn't angle up enough and wouldn't chamber ,so I took the spring out and stretched it a bit-and that seemed to help.I tweaked the lips of the box magazine and that seems to be where the issue is.Funny, though-the 20 feeds just fine but the 12 is finicky.I really don't need the 12 bolt action anymore,we acquired a nice old winchester pump ,but I can't sell it in good conscience until I get it working right

No,I tried that, but stretching the spring did help.I think the lips of the magazine are critical in positioning the shell correctly for pick up.Its funny-because the 20 feeds just fine and I've tried to compare the two magazines to see if there is an appearent diference

I had a 12 bolt that fed fussy as well. It was all in the lips at the rear of the magazine. Took a lot of tinkering, testing, and repeating the process again to get it to feed decent. I just made small adjustments each time with some needle nose pliers and tested it until it feed reliably. I believe it is a common problem with the 12ga bolts.

gotta love mag feed shotguns:D, junk ;), Yes the mossy is a mess in the mag department, if you hold the mag in with your hand, does it feed , if so , your gonna have to make it stay up there with JB MAYBE, its hard to tell a fella how to without the gun.:)
check vert play, if you can get rid of that play your set....

I prefer a pump-but the intended purpose of this shotgun is strictly for deer hunting with buckshot only-no slugs[regulations] so a bolt action is acceptable-if I can get it to feed reliably-which I know it can if I can get it right-my 20 grouse gun is very smooth -nothing wrong with it
