i remember reading about them in a magazine ~6 years ago, they intrested me then but since i couldnt own guns at the time nothing came of it

wondering if anyone here has one? i know they arent much use here compared to the states since we cant hunt with them but im curious

That would be the Remington XP100, I think they discontinued them, here in Canada they offered the costs of a rifle with the useability of pistol.

There are some silhouette matchs and bench matchs that these are used for and they tend to go to custom guns pretty quick. Custom short actions and very oddball chamberings.

I have always been interested in them too but its just not that popular in this country. $3000 + for a gun that you can hardly use? Just can't justify that. Now if we could hunt with them that would be a different story!

yea i dont think i could ever justify one to myself because it needs to be on a range. would be pretty cool to have one in .22 hornet for shooting gophers

These savage guns are actually quite affordable. I own a savage .22 which is bomb proof and I would expect the same level of quality in these, they look pretty slick.

RemXP100, The Savage Striker, Anschutz made one, as did Weatherby and Wichita (and Ultra Light Arms, now that I think of it). All used for silhouette competition in this country, and for hunting where sane gun laws prevail. I had an XP100 some years back, in 7 BR, very, very accurate gun, much more so then me. Some of the silhouette guys I used to shoot with made a fair bit of money competing against guys with rifles during the annual pre-hunting season sight ins at the range. Most rifle guys have no real idea of how accurate these types of guns really can be, and if you shoot a lot of silouette, you tend to be a much better then average shot. - dan
