Bolt Action with 2 stage trigger from factory?

I am shopping around for a bolt action hunting rifle.

Now, I grew up shooting an air rifle with a 2 stage trigger, and I got so used to a 2 stage trigger that I have a hard time with single stage triggers today. But most hunting rifles I see have a single stage trigger ....

So, my question is .... who manufactures decent bolt action hunting rifles that come out of the box with a 2 stage trigger ... and lets say below or around CAD $2000.-?

Appreciate the help ....

CZ 550 and 427 are the only two I can think of off the top of my head.
 
There is a Weatherby Vanguard Fleur de lis in 300 win mag on sale out your way at Dante's. 2 stage trigger, included Leupold 3-9 scope. Someone buy it before I find my credit card.

The Weatherby Vanguard 2's are arguably the best bang for the buck out there right now for a budget hunting rifle. They are available in various configurations and calibers.
They are accurate in my experience and most people are happy with them. Not the lightest rifle but well made with a 1 moa guarantee.

Made in Japan, very solid rifles, other then the follower not a piece of plastic on them. Heavy receiver, accurate barrels, good 2 stage triggers, easy bolt disassembly, M16 style extractors, good gas handling, fast lock time, 1 piece forged bolts, recoil lug is integral to the receiver, pretty much everything a rifle should be.
 
I have 2 howas with the hact trigger which is the same as the vanguard. If you like a 2 stage you will probably be dissapointed with the vanguard 2 stage the first stage is non adjustable and so light its not a prep for the second stage more like a single stage with a trigger flop in front of it
 
Hmmmm ..... maybe I need to explain a bit more ...

Here is my gripe with single stage triggers ... or at least those that I tried (H&R, Rem 870, Baikal). I just don't know when they will break and release the shot.

Here is what happens:
I squeeze ... the trigger travels a bit ... nothing happens ... I hold!
I squeeze a bit more ... the trigger travels a bit more ... nothing happens ... I hold!
And eventually in one of those sequences it will break ....

With the 2 stage trigger on that air rifle that I shot all my youth and I put thousands and thousands of pellets through, I had control, ... I knew exactly when the trigger would break.

I would squeeze the trigger through stage 1 till I hit the "break wall", ... and I would hold it there ... and then in the split second my cross hairs are over the target ... a slight bit more pressure and the trigger would break ... without any more travel.

Basically that is what I am looking for and what I got used to.

Now, I am not an expert on rifles or triggers .... so maybe I am missing something?
 
Sounds like you are used to using very poor single stage triggers. A good trigger like the MOA trigger on newer Winchester rifles have no creep or take up, just a clean break. Other higher end single stages will be similar.

Like you I prefer two stage as well but most of my rifles have good single stages and I cannot complain.

The trigger is adjustable down to 2.5lbs, how heavy do you expect the first stage to be?

Over a pound anyway if the total pull is over 2. I just tried my scale on my hact trigger it breaks at 2.5 and the first stage wont even lift the pointer. We are talking less than 4 ounces my guess, worthless as a first stage although as a single stage trigger its ok

As long as there is a noticeable "stop" at the 2nd stage I'm not sure there is a problem?
Every 2 stage target trigger I have (a dozen or so) the first stage is in ounces, the second is 1-2 lbs.
What benefit would there be in a heavier first stage? It would just make the 2nd stage less discernable.
For an OEM trigger, these are one of the best and safest you can buy. I have no problem shooting ragged holes at 100m with any one of my Howa/Vanguard's.

It sounds like the o.p. wants a 2 stage for the 2 stage advantage which the hact trigger doesnt have. If the first stage doesnt make any difference to you why do you bother with 2 stage.
 
If you buy a remington 700 you can put a timney 2 stage with separately adjustable first and second stage for about 300 dollars its pretty easy and works very well.

In a Target rifle, the additional safety a 2 stage trigger offers is one benefit. I like that it can be set light but not accidentally going to bump it off. I also know exactly when it's going to break/fire.
In a hunting rifle I'd rather a single stage.
