Bolt and locking lug lube?

Grease has more adherence and lubricating qualities. I use a heavy sticky grease used for lubricating dead centers in a lathe.

Agree with Guntech. Also most people over oil, on rifles that have a front action screw located and open to the lug recesses the oil has a habit of weeping down through the threads and getting between the bedding and the receiver.

A small amount of synthetic wheel bearing grease on the rear of the locking lugs has worked well on my rifles. I also use a drop of gun oil on the body of the bolt.

The rear of the locking lugs that contact the locking lug recesses... at times they are under a lot of pressure, especially so with hand loaders... dry lugs can become hard to open, easily gall and become an ugly mess. Just a little grease...
