Considering it's a friggin $35 tool screwdriver, any place I can grab one in Canada? Maybe even pick one up in Greater Toronto Area?

Homemade workaround anyone?

I use the edge of a dull knife..works great if I bother at all.

I use a old C5 knife or a C9 scraper tool. I find them lying around, I had a pretty sweet cleaning kit made up when I was overseas, from parts that people just leave behind, drop on the floor and kick around.

I had a buddy give me a Swiss Issued army knife...

I use dental tools. 3 bucks each. Dental Scraper #7 and #8. If its tough enough for my plaque its good enough for carbon. ha

I just give it to the kid to chew on as a soother for a few weeks, usually does the trick.

Make sure to let it cool off first
