Bolt Catch?

Am I retarded?

I just bought a Norc SKS (Used with a Blk Synth Stock) and only had a few minutes yesterday to play with it... I couldn't for the life of me find the bolt catch to keep the bolt back while say, loading a stripper clip.

I would pull the bolt back, unloaded of course but I thought there was some bolt catch or something to allow easy loading...

Did I miss something?

On the standard SKS the bolt hold open is activated by a "tail" on the mag follower.

If it isn't working it's for one of these reasons:

1) track in which the hold open itself slides is full of old grease
2) the tail is gone from the follower.
3) the entire hold open slide is missing.

Bingo!

Complete strip today fixed the problem, it was all gummed up, I threw some bore solvent on it to loosen it up, then some gun oil...

Workin like a charm!

obviously cfc let you get away with that pic.... the clerk must have taken half a dozen pic of me to get it right , "too big" , "too small", "off center", "head tilted too far down" and my favorite "you have suspicious look " . thank god for technology "delete". LOL.

Actually the CFC made that pic. :eek:

Before you signed on curtton there was a post way back when he first got his new PAL card.
Complete with before and after pics. Proof in my mind that the CFC alters the pics. :mad:
