Bolt Knob

I was going to buy a new "tactical" knob, but decided to make one instead. The larger one is a big benchrest style. 1.25" in diameter. Critiques? Opinions on changes? Be gentle.

Very nice, did you turn them on a lathe? I have made a couple similar too that when I was in college.

I turned it on one of the lathes during my break. Only took about 30 minutes. We have some pretty nice stuff at work.

nice indeed! but if it was me... i would have knurled the "flat" part of the knob.. but thats just me very nice work!

Are they aluminum? Knurling would be cool aswell. Depending on the setup, some neat patterns can be made just by playin around. I bet lots of members would buy them if you could make enough of them.

I like the one with more taper to it, but then again I don't have giant meat hooks Both look great and matched with a nice stainless action, I think they would look great.

The problem with really large bolt knobs is the handle usually needs to be extended to get scope clearance.

I would rather have a longer bolt handle and a smaller bolt knob.

But I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
