I have an older marlin 336 that I cant get the breech bolt out. It seems to be sticking on the extractor.

Its a pre safety model, with the circular clip type extractor.

I know how to disassemble a 336, no need to send me the video.

The extractor is catching on the frame and will not allow the bolt to slide out. I am looking for advice on how to get the bolt out so I can replace the extractor.

Ideas ?

Does your rifle have the hole thru the receiver for the ejector?

I've seen similar problems where the ejector has shifted in its channel.

If you can see the ejector try to depress it with a screw driver to clear the bolt

Yes, the edge of the circular clip on the extractor was hanging up on the ejector. It looks like the extractor was a little out of round. I fiddled with the ejector from the outside and wiggled the bolt and it dropped right out !
Thanks for your help !
With the new extractor installed its slick and smooth.
