Sorry about this ..Im old...but persistent.

Hope this works

Ohhh good grief !! Im gonna shoot the computer...Grrrr
All I can say is there is a hole about 8mm long running length ways along the bottom of the bolt about 1.5 mm wide. Inside this hole I can see a small dia spring. The bottom of the bolt is seriously concave. I would say about a 0.5 mm dip in the centre of the bolt where the hole is.
Ive never seen anything like it before.
Dont ya hate when a machine makes ya feel stupid........

The bottom of the bolt is supposed to be concave and there is supposed to be a small round hole in the bottom of the bolt a little bigger than the size of a ball point pen tip..

Tell you what I'll just take it up the shop. Because this hole is way larger than the tip of a ball point pen. I'll work on the images and again thanks for the info and the patience...Im too old for the 21 st century (havent even got a cell phone )

do you have a photobucket account ?

If so when you hold the cursor on the pic and a drop down menu appears ... copy the bottom code by clicking on it and it will say copied for a sec. then open up the post and right click to paste it.
Only the code (no pic ) will show up until you actually post it or preveiw the pic

It sounds like you need a new bolt to me.

Nope...that's not right. ChalkRivers is about right.

From the markings in the photo, it looks like the bolt was ground at that point. Definitely funky!

I have my old Nork bolt if you need one. I replaced mine a while back with a USGI bolt.

WOW................What the hell :))
I love this site. Seriously Ive had nothing but great help from this site, and heres another example
Thanks
You see what I mean about the bolt. Ive put quite a few thousand round down range in the service and never saw a bolt in this condition. I was wondering if the Norinco was just another WALLY MART peiceof S--t, or wether this was, as I suspect Fubar.

I can replace the power pack on a Challenger, use a compass, run a Batalion Net, cook for 10 guys and sleep comfortably in a puddle..all whilst being shouted and screamed at .........but I cant post a pic.....Talk about feeling inadequate.

One day I will get a pic up here and then its beers on me ...til then Buddies :)

That is a major issue and that bolt is garbage.
I would like to know import year of rifle, should be on right side under windage knob or it's the first 4 digits of serial #
Round count?

Please let me know.
As of seeing those pics, you rifle's bolt is not safe to shoot.

I thought the the M1a/ M14/M305 Bolt had no firing pin spring in it

Is it possible that that bolt is one that some one has tried to install a spring on the firing pin?
