Hi I recently got into reloading and I bought a used 7mm remmag bonaza benchrest die set. It seems in great condition. But I ran into some problems once I tried to put in my bullet as it did not resize the neck small enough to give the bullet enough neck tension stay in the case while trying to seat it, ( I can put the bullet in and out by hand), I even tried to resize with out the neck expander insert. I'm using once fired ppu brass and Berger vld hunting 140 grain projectiles. Am I missing something on the setup? or it there something missing in die set? , would aperciate some tips. Thanks

Bonanza Benchrest dies are now Forster dies since Forster bought up Bonanza years back. So, your sizing die might require neck bushings. Carefully take it completely apart (if you took out the neck sizing insert then you already know how to do this) and then look at the Forster site and try to figure it out based on their description of the neck sizing dies which use neck bushings. I have no idea if the current neck bushings are what the Bonanza dies used. If so, you will need neck bushings which are a proper fit in the die AND the proper size to neck size properly.

Fortster now has bushing dies which are a "newer"line but did not think that Bonanza did. If it's a bushing die, than as mentioned use a narrower one. If not, perhaps different brass or a new die is in order.

Found this:

which looks pretty much the same as this:

so probably not neck bushing type. Maybe you are not setting them up right? I can't imagine they are wore out but maybe someone re-purposed them by boring out the neck to a different diameter? Without being able to see them personally I couldn't say. Take some before and after caliper measurements of several pieces of brass.
