Does anyone know a stainless steel derringer Cal. .45LC/.410 with a 4.25 in. barrel made by BOND.

Model is "Snake Slayer IV"

This hand gun available in Canada????????????

Yes they are available in Canuckistan. Questar and other dealers have brought them in and they are restricted.

I have one that I added to a derringer collection. Nice little gun, but for us Canuckistanians, it is nothing more than a novelty. Would make a great pocket gun when out in the bush, but allas not in our country.

For what we can use them for, they are grossly overpriced selling new for around the $800+ mark, and used anywhere from $650 to over 900!

One of my club mates has one and I got to shoot a few rounds of .45LC out of it. Hellishly heavy trigger pull for starters. But at least it ensures you have a good grip on it. And that's a good thing since it really does try to leave the vicinity of the shooting with every trigger pull. It just does not lock firmly into your grip.

The odd thing is that even at 8'ish yards the POI of the two shots is consistently about 6 inches apart. The upper barrel lifts the gun far more than the lower due to how the recoil is related to the grip and support. When I saw this I asked about barrel alignment but he confirmed that this is very typical and that the forums are consistent with this. But it's simple really, aim dead on for the first pull which fires the upper barrel and then aim 6 inches to a foot high from 5 to 15 yards for the lower second barrel.

THis is a gun that is tremendously high on the giggle scale but woefully inadequite on the practical scale. Trust me, even if you had a wilderness ATC in your pocket this would NOT be the gun to use. It doesn't "draw and point" worth a damn. And the trigger pull is crazy stiff short and very close to the stem like "guard". If you had any sort of gloves on or even if you try to use the wrong soft part of your trigger finger you won't be able to set off the trigger because the trigger will just mush your glove or finger while you end up putting most of the pressure on the fixed stem. The first time I tried his this happened to me and I had to move my finger so the hard point of my knuckle actually bore down on the trigger. Then the 20 lb pull starts.....

I got one awhile back from Kodiak (great deal ) :). Definately a novelty but pretty sure I will never sell it. Took it on the trap range one day ,stood on top of the house and broke 4 out of 25 in 410 mode :shotgun:. quite a hoot . kicks more with 410 than 45LC.

I was able to pick one up a couple months ago. It took me a while to figure out that if I held the gun correctly and pulled back and down the trigger while heavy wasn't to bad. I haven't tried it with 410 but found it fun to shoot 45LC out of it. With a bit of practice and a load of 5.5gr of trail boss and a Cactus Plains 200 gr RNFP I was able to keep both shots in the rings at 20 yds. Not in the black but in the rings at least. Recoil with that load is quite reasonable and several of the ladies in our CAS club where quite comfortable shooting it as well. Over xmas I ran into a dealer here in SK that had 10 of the snake slayers that he was selling for $719.00. When I talked to him a few days latter he told me they where all spoken for and headed out to a single buyer in Alberta as soon as the cheque cleared. They are a hoot to shoot and while they may not be the most practical firearm on the market when has that mattered. I say if you want one go for it, if you don't like it you should have no trouble selling it on the used market.
