just finished booking for the up coming year with jet boat adventures out of fort nelson B.C. leaving on Sept 5 for 12 days we are headed up the Tuchodi river for elk, moose, deer can't wait. if any one has done this and can forward stories and pictures that would be great.

What's a hunt like that running you? Is this guided or non guided? As a non resident of B.C I'd have to go through an outfitter, but that sounds like an awesome trip!

it a non guided 12 days $1,250.00 plus hst per person you take every thing in you want weight is not a problem wall tent generator wood stove chain saw winch and all the things you needs to enjoy your self he told me he has guys take in even take in poker tables.

Sounds like a neat hunt I'm envious!!!!!

I looked at the BC regs and non-residents have to be with a guide or a resident to take them, does this outfitter qualify for this? Do you have contact info for him? I'm just wondering if an Alberta resident can do that trip for $1200 as well....seems like a good deal.

You'd need an outfitter being non-resident though Superbrad, unless just hiking etc. He's just getting a riverboat ride in, then hunting on his own as a BC resident.

So 1250 for a 4 hour boat ride with returrn trip?... Ouch!.. I'll keep saving for that cape buffalo hunt then :) ... I assumed he had a camp of some sort....

Not a bad price really, as in that area, hunting with an outfitter could easily set you back more than that buffalo hunt depending what you're after. He's lucky he's a resident, $1250 plus standard individual hunting costs isn't a bad deal to get in there.

It's unfortunate I am not a resident or cannot pay say a minimal premium for his services... I have a prospector tent and all of the fixings and this would make for a great hunt for me... Head up a week before season... Scout hard and pursue...

But to have to hire a guide and outfitter on top of the fee is harsh....

I will put it this way... There are people that want to do disneyworld and pay large... There are people who want to tour the mayan ruins and pay large... Good for them... I want to hunt and experience the land and culture... Perhaps this hunt isn't for me...

that 1,250.00 plus hst cost includes one free move if you are not happy with the arrea or have gotten your elk and want to be better situated for moose in another area, this makes it seem very cost effective to ensure a successful hunt.
