Books on skeet/trap/sporting clays

I have to say videos have been more helpful than books - many available at cost but worth the money.

Since you asked about books, there are a few Kindle offerings;

Sporting Clays - Shooting for Beginners and Experts - by John King
Probably starts more arguments than it resolves - but of interest none the less.

Mind vs Target - by Bob Palmer
The mental part of the game - which I understand is major - but reminds me of my climbing instructor telling me to "be one with the rock".

Shoot Where You Look - by Leon Measures
I'm skeptical - but kind of a neat read.

Lots of others that I haven't looked at. Trying to talk myself into "Breaking Clays", by Chris Batha - but cringing at 29.59 for an ebook.

All nice in the off time, but none even nearly worth an hour with a good instructor.

Rob!

Hartman on Skeet (1967).
Old, but tells you everything for each position, and everything else you need to know. A classic, and the game hasn't changed.

I bought the Gun digest trap and skeet. I wondered what good a book would do me but was surprised what I learned from it.It touches on all clay sports,equipment,methods etc. I still refer to it every now and then. Goes for under $30 on amazon.ca and kindle for $12. You'll enjoy it and it will definitely help you understand what everyone is saying when they're talking clay shooting sports.

I received the Gun Digest book as a Father's Day gift and I agree with Mr. Quiglee above. Very good book and I lent it to a friend. I hope he doesn't read it as intense as I did because he still outshoots me on the trap field!
