Boone, Arlo and Senna fun

Had another great day in the field yesterday with another buddy of mine who has Arlo and his young dog Senna. This was the first time they hunted together and after some small adjustments they did well. Boone had a lot of points and found a rooster that coasted 200 yards before giving up the ghost in tall grass. Arlo pulled a bird out of some nasty slough water with cattail cover and Senna found a bird under some fallen cattails we lost sight of when it went down.

That’s a good day! Those cagey roosters are going to give the young dogs a phd in locating, tracking and recovering downed birds that will last a lifetime.

Here is my Boone. He had a good morning. I got my limit of 2 pheasants and was back in the truck by 8:40.
He is 2 1/2 and coming along great. He has put up a lot of birds this year. We hunt grouse more so it took him a while to figure out pheasants but he gets better at it every time we go out.
