Here's an excerpt from an e-mail in reference to Brownells and UPS.

"We offer UPS Canada Standard to our Canadian customers due to a special offer UPS has made with Brownells to promote shipments in to Canada. We do not offer UPS Int’l Expedited due to the special offer.

UPS advises us that Canada Standard has tracking, does have reduced brokerage fees and a delivery period of basically less than five to seven days.

Thank you,

Could be - I'd be very interested in a reference from their website, because the other possibility is that the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

If you use UPS, you're braver than I am. I ordered a textbook a number of years ago. I asked the seller to ship the textbook via USPS. Well, that went in one ear and out the other. I received the textbook quickly enough, but the additional fees charged by UPS were about DOUBLE what the textbook cost me. So much for saving a dollar! The fees alone on a $20 dollar textbook worked out to be nearly $50

Don't just take my word for it, here's a list of their "services" They'll service you alright..... http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/shipping/cost/zones/customs_clearance.html

I ordered a North Face windbreaker on ebay and I also told them to ship it through USPS. They went UPS and the brokerage fees were twice as much as the windbreaker. I just cut my losses and never went and picked it up.
