Congrats! As you know I had a draw right near there, and after 6 days of hunting we saw, between the three of us, a total of one cow and calf. And only two sets of fresh tracks. Having said that I believe you when you say a week and a half of hard hunting.

This was the only bull moose I saw. I started cow-calling in several locations over the last week in the hopes I might draw one in eventually. This young bull came in like he was on a string late this afternoon.

The great news is that I did see 3 separate bull elk in this drainage. One was a real monster with a massive 6 by 7 rack. Maybe we will see an elk season in a few years. :D

Gary, nice bull and good to hear you are putting the 338-06 to work. I may build one yet! Good ot hear they are starting to respond to calls, hopefully I can get a tag one year and try to call one in.

Yesterday after I shot him I was only able to skin and gut the moose before it got too dark. This morning it took 3 hours to quarter the moose and pack him out to the road. Good thing my daughter isn't scared of a little work! ;)

~480 pounds now hanging in the willow tree.
