I have tried 5.11, Blackhawk and Danner. My most recent ones are Danner and I am going back to 5.11. Out of all the boots the 5.11s were way more durable and more comfortable.
Have had great luck with Terra defenders, comfortable out of the box, combat style boot and I believe Canadian made. I wear them as a field mechanic in the mud, snow, oil, welding sparks etc and they hold up well.
What I'd really like to see regardless of the boot you carry is some sort of sizing chart - maybe something you can print out. It's tough finding the right size when you can't even try the things on!
Danner, SWAT, Bates and Magnums are the ones that I have personal experience in wearing. I have worn out a few pairs of SWATs over the years and they are a good duty boot. Any of the above mentioned I would buy again.
Stay away from the Smith and Wesson line. I know a couple of guys that have bought them and neither one of them got 4-months out of them before they started falling apart.
