What do you rinse a bore brush with? Or how to clean one?
I was cleaning my rifle the other night and kept getting dirty patches, started wondering if it would help by cleaning the bore brush.

I use a 50/50 water vinegar rinse, I keep a small screw top bottle that I toss the brush into after use and shake it around, I remove and shake off the eccess and leave them dry out or pat them dry with a little cloth that I always have at the range. This helps neutralize the solvent on the brushes.

I use Brake cleaner to clean my brushes. Leaves no residue, dries in a few seconds, and arrests any solvent action on the brush immediately. I just have it as a liquid in a screw top bottle and dip and spin the brush in it when I am finished scrubbing. Works Great!! Eagleye.

I use and have good luck with hot water and sometimes a little detergent. I used to watch the ammonium based bore cleaners dissolve the copper in the bronze bore brush fairly rapidly..until I started rinsing them after use. I guess the hot water dissolves the copper ammonium salts that get produced. I didn't know that Breakcleaner would also rinse the salts -

FWIW - I also used to run hot water down barrels I treated with Sweets.... now I use the Remington cleaner and RemOil or G96. Don't shoot as much now either.
