I used to use bore butter in my Lyman deerstalker for quite a few years and cleaned after every day out. My accuracy started to suffer and with some coaching found the stuff built up in the bore, which took several hours and lots of work to clean it all out. Accuracy returned , so when I got a new rifle I started with bollistol (not sure spelling) on my patches and couldn’t believe how easy and fast the clean was. I wish my eyes were still good enough for open sights.
