Bore Cleaner

So Jim...in essence, your subtle hint is trying to say, I REALLY need some of this stuff ?? lol It has me pondering...wondering how much better it is than my old standby..1st Choice ?

I was Gonna BUY 1st Choice but the INSITE arms boys CONVINCED me to try the ThorroClean ! Glad ! i did- BEST i have ever used ! BUT i also hear 1st Choice is GOOD too so i'm going to try it also - I Have NEARLY every Bore cleaner there is now ! lol RJ

It does. From what I was told many years ago one of the agents in H2O based cleaners is stuff that is used in your everyday household soap. I have used H2O based cleaners for years. Not getting petroleum based products on my skin and it does not smell the house up so the wife is a lot happier. Have I had rusting issues, hell no. Dry it out with 3 patches and oil with Eezox after. That is it. Before I shoot, a dry patch and then a patch with Lockease.

I bought this stuff, Breakthrough Carbon Pro, and it does not work very well. Hardly any carbon on each patch. Supposed to be "Heavy Carbon remover and bore cleaner". ???? Not buying that again.

I also bought Outers Nitro Solvent, and its clearly petroleum based, and works way better. Patches come out black. Checked it with a digital borescope, and the Outers is superior. Saw nothing left but copper.

That Thorro Kleen really strips out the carbon and fast too . RJ

Looks interesting. I will be surprised if it gets popular. They recommend bore-brushing, and it seems the trend now-a-days is for people to shun brushing, as in Wipe-Out......
Doesn't bother me, might try it one day, I have been a sucker for almost every kind of cleaning snake-oil ever invented......

I NYLON brush with any cleaners ! Including WipeOut - Makes them work even BETTER . JMO https://iosso.com/products/eliminator-bore-brushes/

Nylon brushes are getting harder and harder to find..esp in specific calibers. Lots of copper / bronze brushes around. I cleaned out Sporteque and Epps of 6.5 and 223 brushes a couple weeks ago. Tried again for 243 and 30 cal a few days ago...nada

I have some older ones that the bronze bristle tips wore off from the copper remover. I just wind them with some steel wool for other polishing jobs if needed..lol
My poor wife (God rest her soul..:( comin up on 6 months) always called me a friggen pak-rat..:) :) .when I'm lookin for something in amongst all the chit I gathered up over 42 yrs together..I see how right she was :)
