Bore Cleaner

Anyone a fan of Iosso paste? If so, how often can you use it?

Some benchrest shooters will use it every cleaning I generally use it after 30 to 50 rounds just to get the stubborn Carbon out of the throat.

But mind you most competitive benchrest shooters only expect maybe 850 to 1000 rounds of true competitive accuracy out of a 6ppc barrel before it is retired.

Do you think its hard on barrels?

I use JB bore paste. When my laptop was working, with use of my bore scope, it’s easy to tell when to use it. Now when at 100 rounds I use it to avoid buildup of carbon. My Savage barrel is rough inside so it fouls quickly. Can’t wait for a new smooth barrel.

I use all the things that apparently i shouldnt, but then again my barrels are not under warranty or anything like that.
And surprisingly, they all look great in my borescope, and all still shoot!
I still use CLR - nothing in my shelf gets carbon out quicker. Blue iosso brush with wrapped patch, wet with CLR, spin in the throat followed by 15-20 short then long strokes and carbon is gonzo. Fast. A good rinse with alcohol and a wet patch of Kroil, then a few dry patches, and the barrel is squeaky clean.
If i want a mirror finish, a patch/jag with Iosso and Kroil does it everytime.

I use Iosso after every agg which is around 45-50 rounds. Some of the BR guys use it after every target. Short stroke the first approx 10" of the barrel and spin a nylon brush I caliber larger in the throat to cut the carbon ring.

It is not about wearing the barrel out it is about how well the barrel will agg.

Nobody uses sweets7.62 anymore, my late master barrel maker friend mick mcfee got me using it many years ago . I still have quite a bit of it.

So do we buy through messaging you on here or on your website? If the latter, your website does not reflect the sale; I just added 3 to the cart & there was no mention of a freebie & when I add 4 to the cart, the normal price applies.

I've got some Otis #### I've been using for years that is water based and actually works like a charm.
The Carbon cleaner is impressive, takes nothing but the juice and nylon brush and it's out.
I think the other one is called AR cleaner or some####, removes copper instantly.
Only use that #### for deep cleaning, Balistol for in between, it's good #### too.

Just an FYI re Boretech C4 - Amazon has some of the 16-oz for ca $75 with Prime. It comes from USA so about $10 Customs INCLUDED in Price and ca. 3-weeks delivery. NO-ONE in Canada Seems to have any, unless you have a LGS that carries it.
HOWEVER - I bought one in 2020 for about $50 (from Canada) and I still have ca 4-oz left - 4-years so far - So ONLY $15 per year, and I clean 3-4 22s each range trip, ca 20 trips per YEAR. And use it on my SKS to help remove all the Chinese Crap, about 10 trips for that one.

IOSSO blue bore brushes, are they stiffer, or longer lasting than regular nylon?
Who has them in stock?

What I like about Thorro Klean is the second bottle is a thick liquid.
And really sticks to the brush.
