Hi everyone, I’m new to using bore guides and recently picked up a Bore Tech .22 RF cleaning rod. Do I need a bore guide specifically designed for the CZ 452/457, or would any .22 LR bolt-action bore guide work?

I would recommend a solvent port if you decide to go with the possum hollow.
From what I see there are only 2 types made: small and large. I'm assuming I want the small one? How would it go, separate? I thought the solvent port is built in, or there is some kind of o-ring to prevent the solvent from getting into the trigger and other areas you want to avoid?

my universal one does not fit my 457, it would need a specific one, I just use a patch worm now and I'd never go back.
Interesting. I have wondered about those (patch worms). Have you had any concerns / issues at all? What do you do for carbon ring or deeper cleaning of the chamber? Anything in particular?

I leave a wet patch with C4 Carbon remover on the carbon ring for about 10-15 minutes, and then start pulling patches with C4 Rimfire blend through after, Ring is completely gone after as verified by borescope.

Yes, you want the small one that goes from .17 to 6.5mm the other size is for .270 and up. They do have o-rings and include spares as well.

Some bore guides have them built in, unfortunately most of the possum hollows do not. Bore Tech has them built in but I found they were more expensive then buying the possum hollow with the solvent port.

Thank you all for your responses. I ended up going with the Possum Hollow with the solvent port. I also got the Bore Tech Rimfire Blend and C4 carbon remover.
