I was going to take the plunge for a Russian capture Kar98k, and I was wondering if any of you ever had any problems with accuracy from bore pitting, as I understand the Russians weren't too kind to any or their captured kar98ks.
I don't think you need to buy a RC K98 with a poor bore as there are plenty available with very good to excellent bores. Mine does, and it shoots very well. Jean at P&S Militaria has plenty of them in VG condition and at a decent price.
I've had rifles with pitted bores that have shot just fine. However, these were low-mileage bores that were pitted due to corrosive ammo - a few rounds will do it. If the rifle has pitting due to high mileage, then it will suffer in the accuracy dept.
