Decided to install a scope on my Norc M305. The bore sighting seems to require several parts that I dont have i.e. a rod that is long enough to handle the flash supp, and the proper caliber for the rod. ie. 308W or 7.62X51 NATO.
I have the long version of the Norc, so if someone can point me in the right direction here I would like to know what would work with this set up. TX.
P.S. the scope is on with low rings and seems to be ready as is, just wanted to do a bore test before spending a gazillion on amo to set this up. Will spend the gazillions once sighted in:)

You can use a small mirror on a bit of putty on the mag follower. The flash suppressor may not be coaxial.
Roger that, but not sure what this process looks like. Do you have video or reference to look up? I know the flash supp may or may not be coaxial which is why I wanted to bore sight to the barrel and deal with flash supp later. BTY I really dont feel like taking that welded flash supp off at this point. Just talking bore sighting, if the flash supp is so off as to cause contact with the the bullet it will go back to the store for a refund. TX for your input:D

You put a mirror in front of the chamber at 45 degrees. As you look into the ejection port, you see the mirror and a reflection of the view down the bore.
Move rifle until you see the bullseye centered on the bore, chamber concentric with muzzle.
Now move the crosshairs onto the bullseye without moving the rifle.
This will get you on paper with windage about right.

Bore sighting is a good idea. It will tell you right away if you have a major problem. If going to the range is a major expedition, bore sighting can save wasted effort.

If you can fire a shot at an aimimg mark on a large piece of paper (a newspaper will do) a shot at 25 yards will suffice. Adjust scope so that bullet hits about 2" low. This will get you close to being "on" at 100.

My cheapy bore sighter has different washers for diameter from .22 to 12g. For the m305 just used the closest to the flash suppressor. First shot on paper at 50m, 3 shots to bullseye. Bore sighter's job is to get on paper.
