bore snake?

...Limit_time, I strongly suggest you stay away from the bore snake. I cleaned my Savage .17 HMR with one exclusively and it completely destroyed the bore. The rifle now shoots a shameful 3 shot group of 14" at 25 yards .
No big loss though, as I sold the Savage to some poor Chump on this site for nearly what i payed for it who thinks it shoots like a FRICKIN' LASER BEAM!!!

I absolutely wouldn't recommend spending the $25 i just wasted on one of them.
Its only good for a quick clean at the range and nothing more.

I use them in the field, Not bad, but not a sub for a proper rod and jags.

I like them. I mostly use them on shotguns though. The others get a real nice cleaning.

Take a boresnake to a BR or Fullbore match and giver a quick pull through before or after a relay. I am not saying you would be laughed off the range, but it would get some strange looks and a few chuckles. For those I shoot against in fullbore competition I highly recommend them, in fact I will buy you one if you promise to use it after every relay.

...easy Blargon, Limit_time is a buddy of mine that I sold a .17 HMR to and I'm just giving him a hard time, not meaning to misinform anyone on here about boresnakes. I use boresnakes in the field on my rimfires and they work great.

Yep - use 'em when necessary. Especially to 'dry-out' and oil a wet bore after hunting all day in sloppy or cold conditions.

Still clean properly with all the tools
