Just to make sure no one gets excited, i'm not giving up my old hoppes, patch, and brush... Just wanted to give something else a try I think it will be great for a little Ruger 22/45.

I just bought 5,,, clearance at one of our local WM to make room for more groceries!! $10. Each , 2/ .22,, 2/12 gauge and 1/.30 cal!,

I don't give up on Hoppes or oil either...put them in the snake. The only thing you won't need are patches (brush is in the snake as well).

I've been wondering about these for a while. How do you clean the snake after cleaning the gun?

I don't. You could soak and agitate them in warm soapy water and allow to air dry I suppose.

I don't bother for my pistol, but that's mostly because I can have the M&P 9 disassembled and the barrel sitting separate on the bench within 30 seconds. No need.

My rifles, though? I snagged a snake for them a while back, and it's been working really well. The old rod and patches will always have a place, but I'm liking the snake.
