Who around Alberta/sask can re-bore and rifle a barrel and does a good job reasonably quickly? Cost is not a huge issue, as much as getting the job done correctly.

I have a brand new 45/70 Stainless barrel, I need bored to .500" and rifling of .510" groove, and 1:20" twist. I will chamber it and do all the rest after it is re-bored.

The barrel is already threaded for the action and is only 18.5" long.

If you know of anyone let me know.

Thanks

Turning a guide gun into a 50Alaskan, are you?
Like Beater said, maybe Ron Smith, if he's taking in work right now

You should fit a false muzzle 2 inches longer to it for the boring and rifling... The when that false muzzle is removed the rifling will be perfect right to the end of the barrel for best accuracy. If you don't do that I believe the muzzle becomes a bit flawed when rifled...

Ya had to put that in there and ruin it, eh? :D

I'd be checking in with Ron Smith to see if there is enough meat on the tube for a rebore, as well as if there is enough of a size difference to allow for the reaming required.

Cheers
