Hey there everyone....

For those that did not see the other thread, I'm making a series of Die Cut Printed Cardboard life-sized targets. Boris the Bad Guy V1 was the first, and as you can see he's come to life below.

So now that die cut cardboard Boris V1 (above) has come to life, I've been working on Boris V2. Which do you like better, A or B?

I've also drawn up a proned-out Boris V3, but not happy with it yet. Also, I think I've sourced an RPG7 for use in my reference photos / illustrating process, so I hope to have Rocket Launcher Boris options coming too.

Why you might ask? I'm getting set up again to do the online battlerifle league. The format this time will use standardized targets with more standardized scoring zones, so that's why I'm drawing all the Boris-Bad-Guy. (use your russian accent!).

Cheers, and many thanks for your feedback!

They're all awesome! I'd wanna come to your matches just to shoot your targets!

I like the head being offset in B but I'm not a fan of the two grenades floating on the chest. But that's just me! Great job!

"A" makes more sense to me
I like it. I'll shoot at it going for general center mass, and use the ammo belt X as my point of aim. It'll probably be easily visible using iron sights at 100.
Throw on a scope I'll pin point the grenades.

A.
From a distance the crossed bandoliers give a better reference point and it's more symmetrical.
People would buy these, keep that in mind during production!

Thanks for the feedback folks! Looks like "a" is winning by a large margin.

For those who are wondering if these will become available: yes, my eventual goal is to make them available for sale, however I don't yet have the league website or all the match descriptions for the new-format online-battlerifle-league ready to go. Also, I'd like to have 3 or 4 different targets drawn up to support some of the copy I'm working on in the match descriptions. I wanted to get all this stuff done before making the targets available commercially as it gives me the proper background/framework to approach cgn site management to sort out whatever kind of site sponsor I would need to become to hawk them here with their support. Boris v1 is pretty much ready to go - I've produced a reasonable sized test run of the targets which I'm storing in my garage, as well as a small run of shipping boxes that hold exactly 10 targets. One of my shooting buddies even found a source of black masking tape we can use to patch targets with!! I'm still working out the most economical way to ship them around North America, but in the interim they could go canada post.

The league would have two "parallel" components...one set of match descriptions will be shot at reduced range on reduced-scale Boris targets you can download off the site for free and print on your laser printer. The other would utilize the full-sized cardboard targets in another set of match descriptions encompassing ranges from cqb all the way out 400 or 500 yards. The league with free targets would hopefully encourage maximum participation. The league with the cardboard targets would be a riot - especially with the pseudo-requirement to sent a photo of you, your rifle, and your shot-up Boris in for posting so we can all share our own version of "Where's Waldo?" As an aside, I think that's what I enjoyed the most from the old "online battlerifle league"...all those pictures everyone sent in of them and their rifles at the range.

Anyway, I digress.

Back to Boris....I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who might know of an 84mm Carl Gustav in a private collection here in Canada that I could borrow for a couple weeks to take reference photos for Boris v4 or v5? Another good alternative would be a spent AT4 tube. Lastly, an inert 120mm mortar shell would be great for Boris the IED maker. I've got a free pack of 10 Boris v1 targets I'll happily send to whomever's able to hook me up!

Cheers,

Brobee

Your target designs are brilliant.

In a way it's better the other guys would rather not listen to you. I'll be buying some of your targets when they become available.
