Here are pictures of Boris, He's my wifes first moose. ( She named him ).

Great moose for Southern B.C. he has a 46" spread and has great tine length. She said she wanted a moose bigger than the one I got last year and she did. Mine was 44" DAMN

5 hours of rope work and the bull was in the back of the truck whole. Good thing we had 700 feet of 9000 LBS rope and a Diesel truck :)

The moose wouldn't quit looking at us so I told her to put the crosshairs on his head. We were shooting down on him and she dropped one right into his brain at 150 yards. Boris dropped instantly.

He tastes goooooood.
Hope you enjoy the photos

Very nice :!: Bigger than my 1st moose  Was it a head shot? What caused the blood splatter on the antler :?:

Huntsman :)

I'd have to say the finishing shot did that

Congrats, within a few years I hope my wife will be doing the same! What rifle/scope/caliber was she using?

Thanks guys, It was a head shot at 150 yards. He wouldn't stop looking at us and turn broadside so I said take the head shot. I was backing her up with the 300 ultra mag but never needed to use it. She was shooting a .270 winchester model 70 with a baush & Lomb 3000 scope. The bullets were 160 gr nosler partitions. The blood splatter on the rack is probably just from gravity or maybe a blood vessel. There were brain chunks on there as well and on a log he was found lying against. No finishing shot was needed, it was a true "Bang Flop"

Just finished cutting and wrapping it this evening. Now we have to cut and wrap my dad's 7x7 bull elk tomorrow.

I always thought that giving an animal a name made it harder to kill it. Take the example of a farmer with two cows ... one named "cow" and the other "daisy" .. who goes to the slaughterhouse first ?

The one that's fluffy and ready first of course...or the one that runs you out of the coral once too often.

Not that 130gr bullets wouldn't have worked with that shot, but I knew that 160 is a great bullet! Did the bullet angle into the neck, or was it a clear pass through?
