Boris the Moose

Man, that's a nice shot and a 22-250 would have worked with that placement! Congrats to your wife, and yourself. Good eatin' all winter, eh? You mentioned he tastes good - which bits did you eat?
Where's the "thumbs up" smilie thing? :D

Nice bull and good shooting ....nothing wrong with a well placed head shot ...except , a chance , maybe, of shattering the skull .

The bullets were 160 gr nosler partitions.

Not that 130gr bullets wouldn't have worked with that shot, but I knew that 160 is a great bullet! Did the bullet angle into the neck, or was it a clear pass through?

Not sure what direction the bullet went. I had couple of guys helping skin the hide off and never got a real good look to see if there was an exit hole anywhere. I keep forgetting to look for things like that. I did find the front lead core in one of the rear quarters. I'm not sure where the rear core went. Absolutly no meat damage where ever it went. We took it to a meat cooler to cool it off while we hunted more and he cut the moose in quarters with an electric chainsaw so that may have spit the bullet out if it was in or around the spine?????

The 7x7 bull elk unfortunatly is not a very big one. We had a real good draw but dad is not well so after a couple weeks hunting and having a great time he decided to end it and shot this bull. Should be good eating because the bull was pretty young. Maybe next time!!!

What a resemblance. This one measured 51 inches. I will post the whole story in a few days when I have time

Couldn't say if he had any relatives, he wasn't in much of a talkin mood :D

Good lookin moose you got there. Hopefully he tastes as good as ours does!!!

I remeasured my wifes moose the other day and found it was just under 45 inches not 46 as previously mentioned, oh well.
