Borrowed the wife’s Glock today!

So I figured she’s at work so why not break in her new Glock 19.

Called the Ontario CFO and after 5mins on hold I got the 2 day ATT to borrow and take her gun to the range. I asked and apparently the max they would allow is 2 days. Said something about things changed in like 2015??

Pretty straight forward and they emailed me a PDF that I could have on my iPhone if I got pulled over.

I actually like that Glock a lot more than I thought I would. It’s like the Honda Civic of guns!

Takes me back to the early '90's & first shooting Glocks.

Thought they were butt ugly, no romance etc.

Then put 5K rounds thru a 2nd gen G22 .40 S&W in a shooting course. Have had at least one ever since.

Hey Folks,

Let's see how I like mine then. Was just issued my license yesterday but bought a G17 gen 5 that's been waiting for me at the local shop.
Never even shot a Glock but I did shoot 50 rounds of 9mm through an M&P 1.0. But it seems to be a simple, reliable, and good performing firearm notwithstanding the popularity of the brand. I did buy an M&P 2.0 in .40 S&W as well. I liked the fit, even more so than the Glock. But we shall see when it comes to shooting.

Cheers,

Haha
You Glock lovers ever have one that seems to shoot high with the white dot up front and the white U shape at the rear?
I need to either use a 6 o’clock hold which I don’t prefer or make the front dot 1/2 way disappear in the U.

Yea I needed her RPAL number and of course the Firearm registration number. The ATT was of course from our house to the range and back. And two days only. I guess I would have to call again if I want to take it another time.

This two day rule sort of ruins the whole borrow restricted firearms thing. Almost forces you to buy your own which the gun grabbers must not like. I mean two Glocks may be worse than one??? :)

my experience - one weekday (may be over-lapping 2) if you explain you are going for the over mid-night shooting, or a weekend (again, with some overlapping for night shooting) ...

Glock, don't hate because of the well proven record for unprecedented reliability,

Personally, I've seen hundreds of Glocks shoot thousands of rounds of ammo reliably. In that time I also saw failures a couple times.

One was an ammo issue. Early production Federal nickel cased .40 S&W 180 gr JHP. Base of casing detached at point of extraction leaving the 'cylinder' of the casing in the pistol's chamber. Next round fed but couldn't chamber causing a stove pipe. Pistol had to be field stripped & needle nose pliers used to pull the casing cylinder out of the barrel chamber.

Second time was the rear of the trigger bar sheared off internally when firing. The pistol was a 2nd gen G22 .40 S&W with about 5K rounds on it's clock. Obviously, the pistol would no longer function as is & had to be detail stripped to replace the trigger bar assembly.

Those were the only 2 times I saw Glocks not function. Never had one of my own or one I was using not function 100%.

I have a gucci glock that isn't as reliable as it should be. It is very sensitive to ammo brands. I guess like a honda with a crazy meth-turbo-nitrous set up would be sensitive to fuel.

The glock tuning rabbit hole is deep and dark - tread lightly

Just the glock or lush silky underwear as well?

CFO here in NB told me a few years ago that there was no problem taking my wife's guns with my ATT to the range. I have to call them and see if things changed here.
