Bosnian M48 Zrak project

I was able to source a Zrack scope with mounts.Shopping around I found the sporterized M48 from Zastava .I saw that the receveiver was already machined and drilled for scope mounts .I purchased one still in the box and tried to mount the scope.The alignment was so off the gross windage on the mount was maxed out over to one side and the reticle was over to the same side after bore sigting.The scope was visibly twisted.The rear was also lower than the front causing the reticle to be at the bottom of the field as well on zero.Disappearing when elevated.So my recommendation would be to avoid buying a Zastava sporter unless you can physically check it.I have an untapped action Im sending to a gunsmith now.Dave

? I have a sportered no4 lee enfield that someone drilled and tapped on knoxform for something or other. 6-48 holes tapped. One on knoxform is right into the chamber.

oh I had one like that misaligned at about a 15 deg angle off center into the chamber.

good thing I have some machines to fix that sort of thing.
