What makes and models are available in bottom ejecting shotguns(pumps)? I am not very fermiliar with pump shotguns as I only use semi's what are some pros and cons of bottom eject? Much thanks.
Get an Ithaca model 37 ......... excellent quality and their market price is very affordable.
My only complain would be that you don't easily see the chamber which could be a safety concern. In addition, accessories for it might not be as easily available as other pump action shotguns such as the Remington 870
How are they in terms of reliability? I'm looking for info for a friend this will be his first shotgun. His price range has a limit of 600 to 700 dollars tops.

Considering the current asking price of a second or third hand M37 on the EE.......myself I would pass on these chinese shotguns for the real thing. For a little more cash get the real thing. Not something unproven/unreliable & I think you will find it's money better spent.
My dad uses Ithaca 37 and swears by them, mainly come with fixed chokes. I own 2 Browning BPS's both 12g. One smooth bore with choke tubes and the other with a rifled slug barrel.Have had no problems at all with them. I highly recommend the BPS.Money well invested.
My Ithaca is a bottom eject great gun very reliable, always wanted to get more Ithica’s because of it. I will warn you though I have taken newbie’s out shooting and I don’t know how they do it but a few times they have jammed it, and I’m talking about one shotgun shell seated/chambered, and the other slamming in to the back, did that ever get me angry...with common sense that should never happen either way though I have loved the reliability and the great wood/stock and engravings its beautiful enough to show off and yet I don’t care at all taking it in the bush and getting it dirty!
