Bought a Norc 9mm 1911 frame, now what.....

So I wanted to figure this out for myself as I have both an np28 double stack and an np29 single stack I thought why not take both apart and find out what’s what...

I think what happened is norinco knocked off a para ordinance. The original steel grip double stack was the para. And a para isn't a 2011 because of many reasons one of which is the grip is part of the frame.

So as it turns out para p18 mags do not fit the np28, they are two deep as if they are made for a longer cartridge, they are marked 38 super and 9mm so that might be the issue

Idk if I’d be able to modify a p16 mag(40 cal) to work by bending the feed lips or something it’s something I’ll try in the future if I can get a p16 or p14 mag

The frame has everything but the hammer and ambition safety. I Run Guns has a Rock Island 10mm double stack and I am thinking of purchasing it with their strip the frame option. I may hold off until they have a 9mm option. Mags are my biggest worry so thanks for the info on the 92fs mags, have not found any Bersa Thunder Pro mags.

Brownell's had or used to have the 9mm single stack mags for sale for the 1911 pistols .
